“ERASMUS+” YOUTH WORKERS’ MOBILITY PROJECT “EDUCATION THROUGH PROBLEM SOLVING”
NGO “Problem-based learning institute” (Lithuania) in cooperation with Association “Dare to Take Your Chance” (Romania), Association “SUR217” (Spain), Association” Youthfully GR” (Greece), NGO “Nasza Wies” (Poland) and Bulgarian sport development association (Bulgaria) together cooperated and implemented “Erasmus+” youth workers’ mobility project “Education Through Problem Solving” (2017-2-LT02-KA105-005345) on 16-23 of October 2017. Project concept based on Problem-based learning strategy – that is self-directed learning approach when groups/team of learners learning through the problem-solving process in terms of problem structuring, information research, providing of problem-solving insights and monitoring activities. The main aim of training – provide learners with methodological insights of Problem-based learning (PBL) methodology and its application in educational practice. During the training course participants were introduced with the major element of PBL – problem structuring, information research, strategy composition and monitoring activities, that is at the heart of PBL. In groups/teams, learners worked implemented different PBL related tasks in terms of creating problem schemas, raising questions and researching of information, creating problem-solving strategies and implementing of metacognitive reflections. Based this, participants were introduced to basics of information literacy, knowledge management issues as well with different non-formal educational methods and approaches and sport-based education. According to the director of PBL Institute Mikas Balkevicius projects’ Training course was implemented with the great success because of active motivational and all learners’ involvement into the learning process. According to him, the learning process was highly contextual (based on the real problems), self-directed (headed by learners), constructive (hands-on activities based) and collaborative (based on group/teamwork activities). The project was organized at the nice location where nice open and indoors learning spaces were available – made special and inspiring every educational moment.
